New Earth Recovery
New Earth Recovery began under the umbrella of Tierra Nueva in June 2011. For many years, directors Alan and Amy Muia served as chaplains to inmates in the county jail, where they met many individuals who hungered for change, yet struggled to break free from addictive patterns and find safe environments to heal. It became clear that these individuals needed new community—a recovery home and relapse prevention program where they could receive ongoing pastoral care and intensive support for their recovery efforts.
Alan and Amy began New Earth Recovery by establishing Faith House, a recovery home for women. In 2014, they opened The Trust—a home for men. Due to the growth of the recovery ministry, New Earth Recovery was blessed and launched from Tierra Nueva in 2015 as a separate 501c3 non-profit.
Today, New Earth Recovery operates four recovery homes in Skagit County.
