The Family Support Center

Tierra Nueva staff members and volunteers offer pastoral support, advocacy and accompaniment to Skagit County’s marginalized through a variety of means. The work of the Family Support Center is the embodiment of Jesus' love and touch to a needy world.

A typical day in the Family Support Center might involve supplying emergency clothing and blankets, assisting people with legal problems, and helping with job and housing applications.

TN staff accompany people to court, visit people in jail or immigration detention, provide pastoral counseling and prayer, and mediate conflicts with employers, landlords, and insurance companies.

Helping non-English speakers fill out applications and other forms

Emergency transportation to hospitals and other appointments

Providing a place for ex-offenders to do community service that directly helps their community
