new earth recovery

New Earth Recovery is a “division” of Tierra Nueva, an umbrella department that supports such projects as on-site recovery meetings, cottage industry for those needing job skills (New Earth Bread), and clean-and-sober housing. New Earth Recovery works in coordination with other projects at Tierra Nueva, including the jail ministry, the family support center, and our faith community.

The mission of New Earth Recovery is to love, strengthen, and accompany those in active addiction and recovery, through faith-based support groups, volunteer opportunities, new community, and pastoral care.

faith house

Faith House opened its doors in June 2011.  This beautifully restored historic home in the heart of Skagit Valley farmland offers a clean-and-sober living community for up to twelve women.

Our mission is to provide a safe, loving, high-accountability and substance-free housing environment for women who desire to maintain their sobriety and find healing from the root wounds that have contributed to cycles of addiction; and to equip and strengthen women into their destiny of wholeness and hope.

What we offer participants

We are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and secure home; healing prayer and spiritual support; meetings and resources specific to recovery issues; life-skills and enrichment opportunities; and personalized care for the journey to wholeness.

new earth bread

New Earth Bread is one of Tierra Nueva's micro-enterpises, part of New Earth Works.

New Earth Bread was started by Cherry Haas, a Faith House volunteer with a vision.  She desired to see women in recovery grow in employment skills, build confidence, and move toward sustainable lives.  She took her family's 90-year-old sourdough recipe, combined it with some business know-how, and New Earth Bread was born.

New Earth Bread is supervised by Alan Muia, and staffed by the women of Faith House, who grow in employment skills by baking delicious bread and selling at local farmer's markets.

You can also order New Earth Bread online!  Click HERE to visit the New Earth Works website.

Enjoy our bread.  You're making a difference!
